Pay $48,000 - $60,000 per year, partially commissioned based on caseload. Potential accommodation for paid internship.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Bilingual Nutrition Consultant will work with both Spanish and English-speaking Licensed Family Childcare Home Providers over-seeing their food program to ensure they are meeting the guidelines of the Colorado Food Program, part of the USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sign on and train new Childcare providers in the Food Program requirements.
  • Maintain and grow caseload of 30 to 75 clients.
  • Caseload of 30 providers on the I-70 corridor and the Western Slope.
  • Travel includes overnight stays, typically 2- 3 days out and then back to Denver, as well as in the Metro-Denver area 1-3 days per week.
  • Monitor meal service, record keeping, child enrollments to ensure regulations are being followed.
  • Visit providers across Colorado three times per year, per provider.
  • Be the first point of contact and on-going support for childcare providers.
  • Monthly contact with each provider by phone, text, and email.
  • Create or translate program materials in Spanish and English.
  • Attend Staff Meeting 1-2 hours monthly.
  • Attend Staff Training 1-3 days per year.
  • Two to Five days a week in our Lakewood office during training and after training.
  • Degree not required
  • Nutrition or Dietetics study or degree is a plus.

Experience

  • Work with the Child and Adult Care Food Program or other Child Nutrition program either at the Sponsor or Provider level is preferred but not required.

The ideal candidate is:

  • Self-motivated
  • Self-directed
  • Highly organized
  • Able to receive and give correction directly and in a kind manner.
  • A good driver who enjoys driving, has a good driving record, insurance, and own car.
  • Willing to learn and implement a diverse range of regulations within the Colorado Food Program as well as basic requirements and licensing capacities of the Colorado Department of Early Childhood.
