American Academy of Pediatrics Bright Futures National Center
Bright Futures, at the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), is a national health promotion and disease prevention initiative that focuses on promoting and improving the health, education, and well-being of infants, children, adolescents, families, and communities. The Bright Futures Guidelines, 4th Edition, provides theory-based and evidence-driven guidance for all preventive care screenings and well-child visits. It presents an emphasis on the social determinants of health and on lifelong physical and mental health. Bright Futures content can be incorporated into many public health programs such as home visiting, childcare, Head Start, school-based health clinics, clinical care, and many others. Resources promoting healthy weight and oral health will also be featured. Resources developed especially for families are also available. Stop by to learn more!
