Final Rule Child Nutrition Program Integrity Overview

• Annual Financial Review of Sponsoring Organizations
  • Annual review of at least 1 month of a sponsoring organizations' bank account activity and actual expenditures
  • Annual review of CACFP expenditures reported by sponsoring organizations of unaffiliated centers
• State agency review of select sponsoring organizations at least once every 2 years
• State agency payment of claims with non-federal funds if they fail to provide a fair and timely hearing through the serious deficiency process
• Sponsoring organizations requirement to enter into permanent agreements with unaffiliated centers
• Fines to State agencies and School Food Authorities for severe violations in Child Nutrition Programs
